What if Prometheus and Alien Covenant were one film (that didn’t suck)?

Like all right-thinking people, I love the universe of the Alien films. At core, they’re about the failure and exploitation of trust. What if you couldn’t trust your body? What if you couldn’t trust institutions? What if you couldn’t trust robots? And so on.

Hell, I even love the unhinged lunacy of Jeunet’s ‘Resurrection’ instalment.

While I enjoyed both Prometheus and Covenant as entries in the canon of magnificent failures (hello Jupiter Ascending!), even I have to agree that, objectively, they really suck.

My friend Jason Cosper recently made me aware of Paradise, a fan edit project thst takes to both films with a razor blade and assembles something truly compelling.

It even makes the weird old man makeup on Guy Pearce make sense.
