Meanwhile, the logo’s launch has perturbed the City of Monash — which has been using its own big M brand since 1995, reflecting the shape of it’s Harry Seidler-designed civic centre.

Monash paid $5000 for a Richmond based firm to design its logo, acting Mayor Charlotte Baines said.

“We would argue it’s very similar,” she said. “We’re certainly going to be looking into it. Our big M stands for something and it’s important that we are able to maintain our leadership and our originality.”

Yes, Cr Baines. Your big M stands for ‘something’.
